A mixed-use commercial development on a site at Rowett North, Aberdeenshire, comprising demolition of existing buildings, erection of a new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC), energy centre including anaerobic digestion (AD) plant, hotels, offices, leisure uses and associated infrastructure, access, landscaping, engineering works and car parking. A comprehensive indicative masterplan was developed for the site which aimed to introduce a high quality built development that is sensitive to the existing context of the site and its potential environmental sensitivities.

The development comprises a mixed-use development incorporating:

  • A new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) including 200 bed hotel, subterranean space, open space/urban realm and concourse, along with associated retail, leisure, restaurant and public house uses. 

  • Two further hotels with an estimated combined capacity of 300 beds.

  • Office space with an estimated net floorspace of 60,000sq.m.

  • Leisure uses with an estimated net floorspace 6,00sq.m.

  • Energy Centre incorporating an anaerobic digestion (AD) plant and associated plant and equipment for both generation and production.
